Mr. Burns has been involved in the mining and exploration industry since 2007. He was a founding member of Mackevoy Geosciences Ltd. (2007-2013), and in 2014 he co-founded Pioneer Exploration Consultants Ltd., a private geological consulting firm based in Saskatchewan. At Pioneer Exploration, Mr. Burns developed the UAV-MAGTM system, flew the first ever commercial unmanned airborne magnetic geophysical survey in 2014, and was central to Pioneer becoming the industry leader in UAV based geophysical surveys. Mr. Burns is also a director of Canadian International Minerals and Navis Resources.
President and Director
Mr. James Rogers is a mining professional who has been active in the mineral exploration industry for 10 years. He is currently President and CEO of Longford Exploration Services Ltd., an international exploration services company that performs services for numerous exploration companies Mr. Rogers studied Geology at Simon Fraser University. Mr. Rogers is currently a director of Navis Resources Corp.
Mr. Lefebvre is one of the foremost experts in UAV technology in Canada. He is a mechanical engineer with a diverse set of skills including product development and program management gained in the automotive industry. Mr. Lefebvre was one of the original developers of Ardupilot, the world's leading open-source UAV/drone operating system with now over 1,000,000 systems in operation around the world. A frequent invited speaker at UAV industry conferences, he has also consulted to the UAV industry internationally, assisting clients to deploy Ardupilot on their commercial systems. Sensing a need for more robust UAV platforms for commercial applications, Mr. Lefebvre founded NOVAerial Robotics Inc.
Mr. Jackson is a Principal of Jackson & Company, Chartered Professional Accountants assisting private and public companies in a variety of industries with full service accounting, tax and financial advisory services. Mr. Jackson also founded BridgeMark Financial Corp., which provides administration, corporate compliance, and financial reporting activities to public and private companies. Prior to his time at Jackson & Company, Mr. Jackson spent a number of years working at Ernst & Young LLP and obtaining his CA designation before moving on to work as a senior analyst at a boutique investment banking firm. Mr. Jackson earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Simon Fraser University. He holds the professional designation of Chartered Accountant (CA) and is a member of the B.C. and Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. Mr. Jackson has had extensive experience as CFO and as a director of numerous publicly traded corporations in the metals and mining industry.
Mr. Stewart Baillie spent 30 years with the Flight Research Laboratory of Canada’s National Research Council. As Lab Director one of his roles was to act as the Transport Canada Accountable Executive over the airworthiness, maintenance and operation of a fleet of manned experimental aircraft and helicopters. During his career he also had the opportunity to serve as a Director within the Aerospace, Defence and Marine Branch of Industry Canada. Mr. Baillie was elected as a board member of Unmanned Systems Canada in 2012, and served as its Chairman from 2013 to 2015. From 2010 to 2016 Mr. Baillie served the Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) industry as the Chair of the Airworthiness Subgroup of the Canadian Aviation Regulation Advisory Council UAV Program Design Working Group. In this capacity he played a major role in the development of the current Small UAS Design Standard found in the Transport Canada Staff Instruction and in the development of a similar regulatory proposal concerning Small UAS for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations.
