President, CEO and Director
Mr. Springett brings over 10 years of experience working for several Public Companies. He began his public company career with financing as well as creating exposure for the companies such as Aurora, Puf Ventures, Cannabis Science and Alta Vista Ventures. He became a director of Alta Vista in 2016. Since becoming President/CEO of the company he has dedicated his efforts to make Alta Vista Ventures the leader in the UAV sector.
Over a career spanning almost 25 years Mr. Smitherman has been active in all three levels of government. Most recently a candidate for the Mayor of Toronto, Mr. Smitherman has previously been elected three times as a Member of the Provincial Parliament where he served as Ontario’s Deputy Premier, Health Minister, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure as well as many other roles.
Mr. Smitherman ended a long successful political career in 2010 when he returned to his pre-politics roots as an entrepreneur. He is the founder of three companies and is an advisor to several others.
Mr. Burns has been involved in the mining and exploration industry since 2007. He was a founding member of Mackevoy Geosciences Ltd. (2007-2013), and in 2014 he co-founded Pioneer Exploration Consultants Ltd., a private geological consulting firm based in Saskatchewan. At Pioneer Exploration, Mr. Burns developed the UAV-MAGTM system, flew the first ever commercial unmanned airborne magnetic geophysical survey in 2014, and was central to Pioneer becoming the industry leader in UAV based geophysical surveys. Mr. Burns is also a director of Canadian International Minerals Inc. (TSX.V: CIN) and the CEO and President of Navis Resources (CSE: SUV).
Mr. Jackson is a Principal of Jackson & Company, Chartered Professional Accountants assisting private and public companies in a variety of industries with full service accounting, tax and financial advisory services. Mr. Jackson also founded BridgeMark Financial Corp., which provides administration, corporate compliance, and financial reporting activities to public and private companies. Prior to his time at Jackson & Company, Mr. Jackson spent a number of years working at Ernst & Young LLP and obtaining his CA designation before moving on to work as a senior analyst at a boutique investment banking firm. Mr. Jackson earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Simon Fraser University. He holds the professional designation of Chartered Accountant (CA) and is a member of the B.C. and Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. Mr. Jackson has had extensive experience as CFO and as a director of numerous publicly traded corporations in the metals and mining industry.
